A NEW library IN LIMA

The New Library is a sensitive extension project of one of the Oldest educational institutions in the Cultural Heritage centre in the Peruvian capital of Lima. The brand new facilities where designed to store and display the antique collection of books and the historic archives of over 200 years old.

Large windows provide plenty of natural light across four floors. At street level, the cafe is surrounded by books welcoming visitors to discover recent publications in cozy and enjoyable environment.

At upper floors, modern reading rooms craved in wood and glass provide magnificent views through the old books on shelves located at different levels.

Kentish has worked together with David Mutal Architects in the interior and development of this new civic contribution for Lima.
